I had a '50 Dodge 1-Ton like that about 25 years ago.  It had a Flathead 6 and 4-Speed Trans.  Never tried to get it running before I re-sold it.  Cool truck.

Quite a resemblance to 47-54 pickup and heavy duty GM cabs of that era

Cab looks like late 40's to 54 GM cab to me used on Chevrolet and GMC.

Brocky, the Dodge appears to be a '41, I don't think they built any diesels after the war. The cab is from the 1950's. I would guess this Dodge was sold in Oz when new and got re-cabbed somewhere along the way.

John, Thank you for the information. It means that my Down Under Trip report, I mislabeled the years of this one that I took pictures of at Archie Baines shop in Victoria AU in 2015. Since the cowl and cab look different than your picture above, it raises the question of whether this went Down Under before, during or after the war?? Also is this perhaps an Aussie Cab??

Gordon_M made a comment in a WAI thread about vents on the front of these COEs I didn't notice before. You'll have to look at the attachments to see the details.

This is a '40. No vents, no cowl lights and a ram hood ornament.
http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/uploads/images/1f34276e-ef57-496f-8913-0f5c.jpg

New hood ornament, cowl lights, no vents and a 1940 Tennessee license plate, so it must be an early '41.

This one is the same configuration as the one above and has a 1941 Michigan license plate.

Vents, cowl lights, painted trim and a 1942 Texas license plate. So the vents must be late '41 or '42.

I don't know about COEs, but the conventionals had different headlights the first year or two. (On stanchions rather than embedded in the fender, IIRC)
