#10 in the ground Time to set up the rest of the scaffolding come up with more scaffold boards  Laser line the tops for trimming set some trusses at least 2 so I can add in some wind bracing then set the rest of the trusses and bridge them all together. Plus I need to go to my mine site and excavate another 100 yards of flex base select fill clay to level out the inside floor area then another 4 to 500 yards  raise the outside grade on the south side some sloping slightly away from the building so I will be able to have a hard packed area at least 50 feet wide around the side and back of the building Trucks don't do well in the sandy loam unless it is right after a really hard rain.
What I really need is to come up with a small tracked loader or tracked skid steer for a while. My old 755 backhoe is just too old too slow and too cumbersome at times when just moving material.

I hear you as much as I dislike working from scaffolding I detest ladders 10 times as much but will probably have 3 or 4 helping when it comes time to set the trusses add in bridging run the purlins and sheet the thing

in getting ready to set up some of my scaffolding I found that somehow a whole stack of horizontal braces either did not make the trip out here or are still in the 1 trailer of mine that has not been brought out yet
So I went to my stock pile in search of some pipes to make them out of
http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/uploads/images/735b9422-6e67-4f29-8349-7aa4.jpg
So I made enough of these to set up any amount of scaffolding I need

I think I have something like 30 or 40 scaffold frames But with the stock of 1 1/4" pipe that I have I could make many more if need be but it only takes 6 frames to build a scaffold high enough to work at the tops of the columns Next I might decide to make more scaffold boards that hook on instead of using 2x12 planks
I have 3 or 4 aluminum scaffold boards now

Made a couple crucial additions to the forklift boom that I also use on the forks of the loader on the Ford backhoe

http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/uploads/images/f4af7343-6655-471e-b018-a49c.jpg
First off the extension allows the boom to reach 25 ft high

http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/uploads/images/35d58e7a-0682-4f4a-a352-7ee6.jpg
the next thing I made is a cradle to bolt on the extension so I will be able to pickup and raise the trusses without leaving the seat of the backhoe
bur equally important is I will be able to disconnect from the truss after it is welded in place without having to climb up to the top also the cradle has a pocket that the center vertical member rests it to give me even more control over how the truss moves around
http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/uploads/images/99e6421f-bc64-48c4-a63e-a02c.jpg
I can lift the heaviest truss without needing to extend the hoe bucket back for counter weight and the tractor is stable enough to cautiously maneuver around with the truss up in the air

nothing like being able to manage little things like eating . that crane support looks like it will stay put , are you doing all the work by you`re self ?

Nope all 3 of us me myself and I are working well together
I do the cutting then it gets welded together by me while me and I argue with myself the same goes for the digging and covering of the hole I dug the hole then it was covered and packed by me while myself kept saying that is not good enough Jane has to give myself a reality talk every once in a while by explaining to us that we are not building it for the 40 year old wild man of days gone by. and we no longer need a building like this one

You guys talk about your dependency on microwaves and grills  brings back night mares of my first wife. When she and I first married she literally burned a hole in a sauce pan while trying to boil water. For that reason out of self preservation I taught myself how to cook what ever I wanted.
Wife #2 Jane is a good cook but for the past several years I have been doing almost all of the cooking again.
but at lest I've gotten her to start doing some baking again.
And no Eddy she does not need Louise's cookie recipe
