FMC stood for Food Machinery Corp..  How they got into heavy equipment and chemicals I DO NOT know?? When I drove for Matlack in the late 70's we hauled out of several of their chemical plants.. Anybody got any idea??

Brocky, They also made coal mine equipment. They were quite diversified at one time. I don't know for sure when they separated from link belt.

I cried because I had no shoes till I met a man who had no class.

They also made some of the most unreliable busses and motor home chassis available. They were rear engined and used an IH 549 gas motor. We had some of the busses in Denver and they were always broken down and having to be towed in.
