I was thinking that White made their sewing machines in the later 1800's,, long before the internal combustion cars and trucks were invented??

When mom was alive she had a retail store that sold White sewing machines
Slim 3979 (6/18/2017)
White also made sewing machines and refridgerators
White built the Giesel.  It was a major operation to switch from one to the other.  It was not as simple as they made it sound.

When Little America in western Wyoming generated their electricity they had 2 gen sets in a building at the rear of the facility. I seem to remember them as Superior but am not sure.

They had a V-8 diesel under development in the 70s. It was plagued with problems and was abandoned, as I understand it.

Hate to bring up a sore spot...was the Giesel actually a White product? It appears GE owns the "Superior" brand now.
https://www.geoilandgas.com/distributed-gas/production/superiortm-gas-engine-portfolio

The Giesel was a Cummins 470 c.i.d. V8185 diesel modified to run as a gasoline engine. Not sure who did the modification rubbishman.

Hamish, add Montpelier to your list. Montpelier became the White PDQ delivery van.

Thanks Jeff.
