I got interested in Superior engines when I saw this machine at a former AT&T mountain top microwave site I used to have access to. It was dual fuel nat gas/diesel as the location was basically in an oil field. I thought it was strange they wanted such a large engine to drive only a 300kw genset as I recall. Wish I had more pics of the heat exchanger room and controls. Manual start no ATS. This AT&T site was hardened designed to withstand 2x over pressure from nearby nuclear blasts and were always manned.

Hate to bring up a sore spot...was the Giesel actually a White product? It appears GE owns the "Superior" brand now. https://www.geoilandgas.com/distributed-gas/production/superiortm-gas-engine-portfolio

Hamish did White ever install one of their own diesel engines in trucks ? I never have seen or heard of these engines gas or diesel. Very interesting brochures of these White gas and diesel engines. I would like to know what type of boat or ship had a White gas or diesel installed in them. Thanks Joe D.

Hamish, add Montpelier to your list. Montpelier became the White PDQ delivery van.

From memory at one time or another their holdings included- Trucks- Indiana Sterling Autocar Reo Diamond T Farm Equipment- Oliver-including the old Cletrac company Cockshutt Minneapolis-Moline Construction Equipment- Euclid Engines- Hercules-including Hall-Scott Superior-including Atlas Imperial
