Yes definitely a disc brake . Could be old style Rockwell or Eaton. Eaton was messing with a air disc setup in the late 70s. Hard to tell what the manufacturer would be .If you can get a lower pic that would help to identify.

I talked to Charlie Hatfield a couple weeks ago. He's working on his 34 Mack fire truck that came with disk brakes from the factory. I questioned him if they were original. He says Doug verified it was originally built with them.

Cleveland Fire Dept had some disc brakes in service in early to mid 90s. When I first heard about it a 2 axle pumper was in for a "poor parking brake" problem . Rotor was gone on right rear wheel .

Regarding Brian's comment, local customer had Louisville Ford tandem with rear drum brakes and hydraulic disc on steer axle .in the '90s .

There were discs on fire trucks.Rockwell had discs back then . I wonder if they were air over hydraulic . I have seen those type of brakes.
