I remember that is was Ford that commisioned the Cat 1100 to replace the SD gassers much like Harvester did with the DV series.
It was probably an 1100 series if it had the Cat by Ford decals. I recall one in blue Ford paint. I guess everyone pretty much already knows all this stuff.

Is this the motor that had decals on the valve covers that said "CAT by Ford".

Freightrain (10/29/2022) Here's a pickup with one in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOABHUAmhJI
3208 fills the engine bay about the same as a 6v53 Detroit. Lots of work in that beast, 3812 miles on the clock and for sale, makes me wonder why.

I drove a L8000 for awhile with a 3208 Cat. What I remember about it was it ran higher RPMs like a gas job, and smoked awful until it warmed up. Made a noise like a throwout bearing going bad, and we used a special oil just for the trucks that had that engine in them.

Tony Bullard (10/17/2022) The block wasn't designed to be bored for liners. The original cylinder bore is 4.5000" It can be bored in four steps, 4. 5100, 4.5200, 4.5300 and 4.5400". If it's warn to 4.5490 you get a new block. My suggestion is to run it as is or donate it to the marina.
There was thousands of them Bored & sleeved here in Australia.. Including a couple I had back in the Day.. They used to use oil from new as they only had a 2 ring Piston.. PAI (I think) used to sell a 3 ring Piston with an Oil ring down low on the skirt Which was a Huge help.. For the best part of a Quarter of a Century 95% of Australia's Concrete Agitators were a 3208 Powered Ford LNT8000..

Here's what you could set the boat engines up to.

The turbo charged 3208 was 280 out the door and they ran pretty good stock, turning up,the pump an it'd make pretty close to 300, Iiked them cause you could drive them like a Detroit

If I can't do much with it then, I could always use it as a boat anchor. Lol I know they're heavy for no more power than what they put out. I've got to do something with it, guys. I'm tired of it taking up space in my shop.
