Eddy Lucast (1/2/2023) Tony Bullard (1/2/2023) Glenn I still have my old manuals that I haven't used in the last 50 years. I've digitized most of them because they were getting so ratty.
If the injector cup gasket is compromised for any reason compression can enter the fuel passages. EDDY!! we still can't insert pictures.
Tony I'm waiting on support to get back to me. We ran out of space during the holidays and getting more disk space means upgrading the software. Since everyone has difficulties logging in after an upgrade because they can't remember their password I've put them off. We're now 9 years back in time on upgrades and the software's come along ways since then.
As soon as I know more I'll announce time and dates and ask everyone to check their password. I've also thought about adding an ssl certificate so the search engines will list us more favorably. SSL certs are another annual expense.
Thanks Eddy. Even an upgrade will probably cost you a fortune. Maybe we should leave well enough alone. Things are running smoothly right now. I'm the only one complaining about picture posting. Ya think I'd be able to figure this out by now. I'll work on it.

And on the pt d it had a check ball between the plunger barrel and the injector body. That is were the onion skin gasket went. It was a better injector than the pt b I will be out in the shop tomorrow and will look to see if i still have any injector manuals.

Here's the ball in the cylindrical injector. The 220 used flanged injectors with the PT and disk pumps. See attached Edit: I'm not sure what injector was used with the disk pump.

jimfols (1/2/2023) The injectors for a disk pump did not require check balls. The injectors for a PT pump do require check balls.
Now that Tony has come up with that ideal i think he is right.I have clean and flow many injectors for 220 engines and cant remember the checks in them also.So the question from me is were are they located?I guess last injectors for any cummins i flowed was in 71 so I am some slow here.

how can i tell if it has a check ball? ANOTHER THING last 2 summers, when its all warmed up, it will kick against starter on hot restart. i thought that was wierd ... hell. one of the injectors must be dripping. it never looses coolant.
