Who's Idea Was It Anyhow?

I just got back from a trip to the left coast. On my agenda was tracking down the f/v Northwestern ("Deadliest Catch") in drydock for repairs at Ballard, WA. While nosing around I found out about tours of the f/v Sea Star and tracked that down. While daydreaming about captaining the Sea Star ("Deadliest Catch" season 1) I spotted the highspeed, heated windshield for the captain. This is the same style used on the Walter VPU Twin Dozers. So what came first here, the chicken or the egg?
