A Kemp Walter Hi
** This truck is now at s.a.mclean in maine. **
Thanks for moving this page for me...
I'm trying to verify year and make walter this is from Kemp's auction. Best guess so far is a 1935. Model "FHS" is written on the grill. The plate on the engine has some stamped info: 4 3/8 X, 5 1/8 X, 6SRL114281574.
I'd be interested to know how to interpret that number if it means anything.
The first of many challenges has been finding tires to fit these wheels. Looks like I'm going to go with some more modern steel wheels with standard more easily replaced tires. the walter arrives at storage Walter cleared off for the auction. Reveals the bobbed back end :( Engine looked mostly complete. Sheet metal is in rough shape though and the wood pieces are rotted away. The rear of the walter cab. A photo of my walter taken by Mr. Gofstein some years ago (60's? '70's? '80's?). Photo looks to be pretty old and aside from wood rot, looks to have deteriorated remarkably little since then. Judging by the cuts in the body work I'm guessing it was bought by Kemp in its present configuration/ condition.
