http://hornsbycrawler.org/index.php/Main/HomePage A different machine than Lombard, but not actually factory built and commercially sold before Lombard was, Holt would buy the patent in 1913 and decades later was portrayed as the "inventor" of crawler tractors. A british soldier watching an early demonstration referred to it as a "caterpillar" and the term became generic until Holt wisely made it his trademark and threaten to sue anyone else for misusing it.

Grew up down the street from the Linn tractor plant, where many relatives and neighbors once worked, and next door to a Linn/Frink Sno-plow/Walter truck agency. I do free look ups of serial numbers, photographic recognition and advise on any Linn related questions you might have, and generally like to locate/excavate/photograph/identify old iron for fun.
