George Murphey nailed this one right off the bat. This handsome fire truck is a Zabek, and is most likely on a Duplex chassis. Bill White sent this photo, along with the following info:

Zabek Fire Aparatus was located in Palmer, MA and apparently were only in business during the mid 1950's.

Several appratus manufacturers including Howe and Zabek purchased cab components from Chicago Manufacturing. This appears to me why they look alike from the front bumper to the drivers seat

In addition to Howe; Boyer, Maxim, Great Eastern, Duplex & Zabek all used Chicago Manufacturing for sheet metal components.

The chassis used by Howe were built by Duplex. Because the similarity is so great and Zabek's production of apparatus was so small I would say that there is a very good chance that the Zabek custom rigs were also built on a Duplex chassis.

Thanks to Bill for the photos and info.

So this is why the quick and sure response. I have recently been updating and adding to my picture files, and one of the files I found that was extremely lacking was DUPLEX. That is why I immediately remembered this picture, I had it in my DUPLEX file.

Here are some others I found both on Howe and Zabek fire apparatus --
