The balloon tires were state of the art when this truck was built. Emblem removed. Photo from Dan Souday.

1 1/4 ton Garford circa 1919 --- with worm drive and 22.5 HP

Trucks, give me trucks!!! --- I'M LIKING TRUCKSWhen we see what we want to see, and hear what we want to hear---- all too often we miss the point!

I'm where I'm at when I'm all there! But,when I'm here, how can I be all there?

Everyone likes Garford, and so do I. This is a 1921 Model 25 1-1/2 ton chassis, perhaps Garford's answer to the "speed trucks" that were starting to become popular. Garfords by this time were powered by 4 cylinder Buda engines and used 4 speed transmissions. By the late 1920's Garford production had fallen to jsut over 100 units per year, and the last truck rolled off the line in 1933. Hamish had this 1st. Thanks to Dan Souday for the photos and info.
