There are two trucks here, but you need good eyes to see the second one. You must name both. Photo from Edgar Browning.

We are still waiting on the correct answer to yesterday's.

First one is a Sterling, try Ward La France for the other.

STERLING and WARD LAFRANCE

Trucks, give me trucks!!! --- I'M LIKING TRUCKSWhen we see what we want to see, and hear what we want to hear---- all too often we miss the point!

I'm where I'm at when I'm all there! But,when I'm here, how can I be all there?

This one wasn't too hard, but you definitely needed good eyes LOL ! The DeMatteo truck is, of course, a big HC175H chain drive tractor, while the truck in the background is a Ward LaFrance of about the same vintage. M. DeMatteo and Sons bought the Cummins powered Sterling new in 1947, and used it through the '70's, perhaps even later. I remember this truck when DeMatteo was building Rt 495 through my hometown of Haverhill Massachusetts in the early '60's. I was about six at the time, but the Sterling chain drive made a big impression on me and led to my love of old trucks and Sterlings in particular. This big horse has survived and is in the hands of a collector in Massachusetts, although in very rough shape. Hamish had this 1st. Thanks to Edgar Browning for the WAI pic, Warren Richardson for the color photo, and John Algood for the WLF ad.
