We couldn't fool anyone today, this is a big Federal 604, a former WW2 tank transporter. Reo built an identical model, the 28XS, and as far as I know the only way to tell them apart is the data plates. Both were powered by a Cummins HB600 diesel backed by a 4 speed with a 2 speed aux. This is another Fortier Transportation truck, as was the KW we ran last week. This Federal is moving a large transformer to the Big Creek power plant. Brian Kelly had this 1st. The photos are from the Southern California Edison Collection.
