Trucks, give me trucks!!! --- I'M LIKING TRUCKSWhen we see what we want to see, and hear what we want to hear---- all too often we miss the point!

I'm where I'm at when I'm all there! But,when I'm here, how can I be all there?

This chassis may be an Available, but I can't prove it. It sure looks like one though. What I do know is that this fire truck is a 1955 Boyer Quad, built by Universal Fire Apparatus of Logansport, Indiana. It was powered by a big Waukesha 145GK engine, and sported a 1000 gpm Hale pump. We know all this because this same photo appears in the late Fred Crismon's "Fire Trucks" book. George Murphy was the 1st to say Boyer, and Warren threw in Universal for good measure. Sven Bengston sent the WAI photo, and I have attached a photo of a 1947 General fire truck on an Available chassis for comparison. Color photo from George Murphey.
