Bill has it, this is a Bell from 1920. Bell trucks were built in Ottumwa from 1919 to 1923 by the Iowa Motor Truck Company. Bell built about 15 trucks a month in 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 ton models. By 1922 a 1 ton model was added. Bells used a 4 cylinder Buda engine and a Russel internal gear rear axle. Thanks to Dan Souday for this neat ad.

Jeff, to answer your question.
So far, until 1980; commercial vehicles manufactured in Iowa (except taxicab):
May be some brand/tradename missing for bus & motorhome

Very nice research wc62. Lots of unusual makes on that list.

What do the numbers in parentheses mean?

Warren,

Date in parenthesis/brackets means I got an evidence (Newspaper, magazine, catalog) about this make with this date stamped or printed on it.
Manufacturing dates will start before and may ended after that date.

For the CMC mixer truck, I got a catalog dated 1975.
