Trucks, give me trucks!!! --- I'M LIKING TRUCKSWhen we see what we want to see, and hear what we want to hear---- all too often we miss the point!

I'm where I'm at when I'm all there! But,when I'm here, how can I be all there?

Yes, it looks like a model 59 White. The bumper and hood are typical model 59. Model 59 had only disc front hubs even when rears were Dayton style. This one has a Timken twin screw. The cab is a later 1930, this model was only around in 1929-30. It's hard to make out but that's an I-beam frame.

and of course the hubcap...

It looks like Bruce gave me the night off, supplying all the pertinent details about this big White Model 59. I wish our WAI photos of this truck were better, as it looks very interesting. Curiously, the Model 59 was rated at 7-1/2 tons when it was introduced in 1929, but only 5 tons in 1930. The Model 59 was not listed for 1931. Thanks to Dan Souday for the 3rd photo. Hamish had this 1st.

Jeff and Bruce, the third photo seems to show a single drive truck with the White hub reduction axle and trailing axle. The fourth photo of the tractor looks like it has the hub reduction axle too.

Yes, Hamish, the bottom two pictures show the White planetary rear axle with a dead tag axle. This planetary had 24" wheels, and also used short and thick underslung springs with slipper pads. You can see the slipper pad under the I-beam frame.
