Is this a Timken worm diff or a Timken double reduction diff? I would say it was a worm.

Dan, that is a great site, there is a ton of info there. Thanks very much. My rears weren't in the MT-119 book, I ended up in the 1956 MT-98 book. The PDF is labeled for L models but also covers some R's. I think I have found a source for all the seals and gaskets I need for the power divider. I'm waiting on prices now.

Dan R, It would be nice to have some Eaton numbers if you can find them without a lot of difficulty, in case my source doesn't work out, or thinks the seals are made of gold.

Here is a link to Irish Mike's IH info.

Jeff,  Glad you found what you were looking for.  Irish Mike, who is a friend of mine, has a great site for IH information.  I've shared it with a couple of people and they were thrilled.

Jeff, I think the IH parts book you need is MT-119 which covers the RF series.   Go to oldihc.org. and scroll down to "other sites".  Click on gangster international.  That will take you to Irish Mikes site which has a ton of IH manuals including the MT-119.  You can download what you need.  Hope this helps.

Aaron (9/14/2014)
Those rears could be SLHD's if they came from a field queen, that is an early SQHD but parts don't change .

Aaron, they are not the same. Or maybe I mis-understood you.

Rockwell SLHD

I just bought a parts list for an IH RF-190, so with this and the other manuals I should end up with IH part numbers for the Eaton 22M and 28M. I should get some answers from all this info. The answer may even be that I don't need this seal, as the 34M and 36M did not use it.

If I remember correctly IH had a variety of diffs. I would want parts in hand before looking for anything. Seems to me that they had items from several vendors including Eaton Rockwell and Spicer. However I have no books so it is just my poor memory.lol

I cried because I had no shoes till I met a man who had no class.
