Here is a sharp lineup of dump trucks. Emblems removed. Photo from Bill White.

one of the truck history books has a Grass Premier truck picture with a similar background.

I've never heard much of what kind of trucking or companies bought these big short production models.  Or what kind of engineering and manufacturing was available for small companies.

Tossing in with Hamish --- Federal (although it would be OK with me if these were Grass Premiers)

Trucks, give me trucks!!! --- I'M LIKING TRUCKSWhen we see what we want to see, and hear what we want to hear---- all too often we miss the point!

I'm where I'm at when I'm all there! But,when I'm here, how can I be all there?

I ain't got no idea, but it looks like a very early application of super singles.
Maybe it's a flock of Stewarts.

Hamish has it again. These handsome dump trucks are big Heavy Duty Federals from about 1933-34. It appears they are posing for their first day on the job with the Ionia County Michigan County Road Commision. As we can see, Super Singles are nothing new, and we have seen them back to the late '20's on some Macks and other models. Thanks to Bill White for the photo.
