One thing I've heard recommended but have not needed to try myself, if the cooling system is intact, to hook a block heater to the engine and let it gently warm the block while you soak the stuck cyls.  the heat helps the liquid flow down the rusted bores.

Hey guys, one of my friends recently purchased a 1930's Coleman E-54 truck that has a BUDA L-525 engine that is stuck or "frozen up."  It last ran around 1969 or 1970 (estimate based on 1969 license plates still on the vehicle).

While I am reasonably experienced with box wrenches and skinned knuckles, I do not know what kind of advice to give Ralph regarding how to "unfreeze" or break loose his BUDA engine. I assume it will involve a long soak with some form of penetrating oils, or some "magic" commercial potion, but I am not sure what to recommend.

Any of you mechanical wizards or BUDA guys out there have any recommendations or on-line resources for where to start on the process?

Thanks in advance for any help!
