Usually top left front corner, but newer stuff may have it on the rear. Quite often hidden by a bracket for the air conditioner pump.

Aaron (5/5/2016) Serial numbers are usually on the top left corner of the block just where the head meets the block
As Aaron said top left REAR corner on a machined pad on the 855s I've seen.

A serial number wouldn't be cast into the block, it would be stamped.

Does 30136300 look like an accurate Cummins engine serial number? Its cast in the passenger side of the block behind the frame rail. The data plate is missing. I'd really like to know what it is. I have researched posts here and on the aths forums as well. Not coming up with much on my own.
