Well, it's not a Biederman, so it must be a Sterling. This is a 1935 Sterling GD, although I am not sure of the model number. Like many other manufacturers, Sterling introduced their COE truck in 1933, but the Sterling had a unique feature that the others didn't: the first modern tilt cab. Sterling would continue to build these G model COE trucks up until the war, but they did not re-appear after. Sterling did introduce all new COE models in 1950, the TG series. Hamish had this first. The CCJ article is from 1935, and the 1942 GD135H in the last photo is from Don MacKenzie.

I saw that Warren, the trucks look identical except for the wheelbase so I thought they could be different models. There could have been an artist at work too.
