Hello all,

I recently purchased this truck from the third owner.  My grandfather purchased this truck new and drove it home from the factory.  It originally had an NHE225, 4x4 married box, 4:63 ratio White corporate rear end on 22" rubber.  Has a mix of tube and tubeless rubber on it now and a 855ci engine at 290hp.  Aluminum cab, fiberglass fenders and the dual headlights from the factory.

It was originally purchased as a single axle tractor.  My dad and grandfather extended the frame and added an air ride tag axle.  The second owners retired the truck in 1987 when the frame broke.  The third owner returned the truck to the single axle configuration.  Unfortunately, in the rear suspension shuffle, the truck lost it's front brakes.  I'm currently looking for a set of backing plates and S-cams for an Autocar A75 front axle.  If anyone knows of anything, please let me know.

Thanks for looking,

Matt

That's a great looking truck. It's extra special since your Grandad bought the truck new. Did you ever get a chance to ride in it when it was owned by the family?

Before my time. I was born in 1973. My grandfather sold this truck when he bought the 1973 KW that I also own.

Yes. I believe his father's cousin ran the truck repair business.

Small world!! I was born and raised in that area.. Rode Crispell Brockway school buses, and worked for Dick in the Slaterville Spgs home family shop during the summer of 1963. And knew the  Bill Crispell farm family also.

Some 15 years ago, traveling from Trumansburg to my property in Schoharie county in my GMC pickup conversion, I stopped by Crispell's garage . Dick gave me a set of Crispell mudflaps that I enjoy every day . I have a collection of flaps in driveway up to the garage door to keep the crushed stone in the yard instead of in the garage.

Dan and Brocky,

My dad and grandfather ran dump trailers and propane in the Finger Lakes. They were based in the Spencer, NY.

Video of the old girl in motion. That rattling noise turned out to be a fan pulley bearing that was never greased. Engine is a Formula recon 290 with less than 10,000 miles on it. Drained the homemade biodiesel and replaced with storebought dead dinosaurs and smoke

Had to add some antifreeze before it got cold up here in Northern NY. Was only good to about 10 degrees after a hose failure required refilling this past summer. Good for -40° F now.
