Hamish is correct, this is a 1943-44 Federal 2G. This little 2-1/2 ton Federal was unusual in that it has tactical military style sheetmetal but does not have a front driving axle. Over 1500 of these trucks were built and although most were dump trucks a few were built with telephone maintenance bodies. Thanks to Dan Souday for our photo.
