  • Articles and Library Question

Can't seem to find a New Topic button or START button or whatever to post in either articles or the library.

    Please advise.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Same, i would love to add things to the Cummins library here. Assumed it was a "work in progress" - i'm still just happy to have the forum back!!

When you post an article be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page, below the upload attachment button. There you'll find the answer to "unpublished". If you go back to your unpublished article and scroll down you can publish it.
the lack of a way to upload files in the Library is my screw up. I'll fix it.
Steve I setup the library with the thought that all files should be dropped in one folder and we would move them to the appropriate folder to maintain house keeping.. In your case I'll setup the Cummins folder so you can do what you like with it. Thank You

              Scroll down and do what?

There is a Save Draft but no Publish that I can find.

                  Yup, did that.

The meta info fills itself in. I have no idea what Rendering Options is but the BBCode is set at No. All the display settings are Yes.

The very bottom has buttons for Cancel, Delete, Preview and Save Draft.

                  Nothing about Publish.

I started fresh with another sales brochure with advanced options open and there was still no Publish option.

Mr Hancock You were right you had no publish button. You do now. Thanks, someday we'll get all of this setup.

Here's why I've moved things around.

If you looked at the photos link for PeterJs' Place there were truck photos, documents and charts. I was hoping to get to the point that it would be a place to look at truck photos. To achieve this I moved the Ukraine thread to the Blogs but it didn't do justice to the photos Dima posted and it didn't have the prominence it had prior to the move. I then moved it to a sub-forum of PeterJs Place but it left the photos co-mingled with the truck photos in PeterJs so I set it up as a forum and that seperates the photos. I hope it'll work where it is which now is directly below PeterJs Place.

Now that we have the permissions worked out for the Articles folder my hope is that this will seperate these from the truck photos posted in PeterJs Place. What I haven't worked out as a solution is what do you do when an article is posted which is part of a Peterjs conversation. Ideas??? Posting it in the articles and link to it in PeterJs Place would work for me and a few others but confuse many of us.

I like the link idea between Peter J and Articles. If an article is spot on target have it show in both spots.

If brochure, articles, etc. can have super good, accurate titles, I think that would help the search function going down the road.

Jim to me that's the issue they belong in both places. Maybe you noticed, as a test I inserted a photo from a link to the "Articles" and it then appears in PeterJs photos. I didn't try it as an attachment, but I think it's the same.
