  • Pommie trucks.

    This old truck is a great survivor. Not the best looking cab, though. Was new to the Shell Oil Co. It is a late 1940s-early 1950s Albion CX1 with 4 cylinder Albion diesel.

          I don't see why you aren't fond of the cab, I think it looks very classic, of course every truck I buy everyone else says it's ugly and calls them names.

          I've decided they just don't have good taste!

            At the time this truck was built Eddy, White were making the 3000 series-a bit more up to date, I think.

              i really dont no why but pommie trucks were in a timewarp after ww2 they ALL slow under powered a n zero driver comfort and the nail in the coffin for them was thef86 volvo light tare turbo engine 8 speed box good viability tilt cab air ride seat p/s steerig they sold like hot cakes and the pommie truck just faded away the best of them here was atkinson n erf because they used u.s running gear but they have now gone

White & Sons, Bairnsdale, Victoria-good article about this firm over 2 issues of the Australian Vintage Trucks & Commercials magazine recently. 3. ERF with Willenhall cab. Foden S18.
