This truck began life as a Mack NO model 6x6. The big Thermodyne gas engine was replaced with a GM 6.71 and the front drive axle was replaced with a non-driving Timken axle. Later the truck was converted to a COE with shop built cab.
These pictures and the Westcoaster in Pennsylvania picture are from the National Archives. This one also has 1948 Pennsylvania New Car Dealer plates. I guess the government was testing west coast trucks. Hall-Scott powered.
